Narnia
Aslan, the believable and loveable Jim Henson puppet, escorted me through the realms of Narnia as a child, but now some computer animated lion is supposed to take over? Ick. I am off to see the new film tomorrow afternoon with my family posse. From the previews, it seems wonderful with great special effects and good battle scenes and great camerawork and such, but the thought of a computer animated Aslan just knocks me sideways, like Yoda from the original Star Wars films to the new ones. I suppose I follow the puppet reign out of childhood's blind loyalty, but we shall see. I'll write a postview review tomorrow evening as a comment.

OMG IT IS SO GOOD! Aslan was extremely believable and made me cry at one point. All of the animation was very very good. The actress who portrayed Lucy was excellent. In fact all of the characters were cast well. The whole movie was very grand and magical, without being gushy and plastic-y, if anyone understands what I mean by that (it's good). The only serious complaint I might make was that every camera shot was mabye three seconds long at most. Very American... We can't depend on good acting, instead we have to rely on fast-moving sequences and flashy special efects. But it's very pretty. :D Comparing Alsan in the first film to this one, I can't complain about how he looks, but really just on how he sounded. The man who was the lion's voice in the original film had a growling, majesterial and commanding tone, but Liam Neeson didn't quite capture that. Oh well, I recommend this film with a jolly 4/5 stars.
Alright, I'll check it out. I've heard good things.
